Timothy Ray Brown, the first person known to be cured of HIV infection, has been honored posthumously with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of the Stars, unveiled during a ceremony on December 1, 2023. The star finds its place near the future site of the AIDS memorial, close to Downtown Park. Notable speakers at the ceremony included RID HIV members Jeff Taylor, Executive Director of the HIV+ Aging Research Project, and Dr. Paula Cannon from the University of Southern California, as well as Tim Hoeffgen, Timothy Ray Brown's partner and member of the RID HIV Community Advisory Board.
